National Garden Clubs Inc Awards Program

Through the NGC awards program, garden club members receive recognition for outstanding achievement.   Receiving a prestigious NGC award is one of the highest honors to be achieved.  Recognition creates pride and encourages members to further their efforts.

The awards application process and the awards application has CHANGED for 2011-2013.

 2. Butterfly Poster Contest (K-12) - Due March 1st to District Chairman for judging (Directory, p. 42)

The District Chairman must send the first place winners to State (WSFGC) Butterfly Chairman (Carlin Lohrey), by April 1st.

3. Flower Show - Intermediate Garden Club or Junior Club eligible – Due December 15^th, (Directory, pp. 50-52)

4. Junior/Intermediate Gardeners - six Youth Awards - Due DECEMBER 1st  to DEBBIE SKOW (Directory, p. 62)                                                                                                                           

5. Poetry contest / NGC Youth ( K-9) -  Due December 1st  to Joyce Johnson, (Directory, p. 76)

Themes: "Colorful Fruits or Tasty Vegetables" (choose one),
                and/or "Protecting Our Aquatic Friends"

6. Recycled Sculpture, NGC Youth, due December 1st to Brynn Tavasci (Directory, p. 81)

7. Smokey Bear/Woodsy Owl -- Poster Contest -- Due December 15th to District Chairman for judging.    Winners are sent to WSFGC State Chairman Lorraine Wagness by January 15th. (Directory, pp. 84-85)

NEW NGC PLANTINGS AWARDS WITH MONITARY PRIZES  (JJ)

 Hello to all,

 Attached you will find a flyer (CLICK HERE)  just approved by NGC President, Shirley Nicolai, regarding the NGC President's Project Plantings for Public and Special Places.  Please share this flyer through your newsletters or special BLAST to ALL garden clubs. Notice the  MONETARY AWARDS, recently approved.  Applications may be made by using the form  on the NGC website under Plantings Project and under "forms."   Applications may be mailed to the appropriate chairman by USPO.  Realizing that clubs contribute their talents in many Public and Special places, we want each state to be recognized for their efforts.  Applicants may send forms at anytime and need not wait until the April 1, 2012 deadline.

 You may receive this information multiple times due to  overlapping list.  Please distribute this flyer!
