Arkansas Judges Symposium June 23 - 25, 2025
Little Rock, Arkansas

Floral Badge 3_edited_edited.png

The upcoming Arkansas Judges Symposium will be held in Little Rock on June 23-25.  The full registration is all inclusive for lodging, meals, training facilities and training outlines. The facilities are very conducive for a great educational experience, but they do have one negative for out of town/state attendees - room checkouts are the morning of the last day of training and those needing to stay over one more night would need to move to an area hotel.  I can help with that, if needed.  If there are registrants who would rather secure other lodging options, I can help them with that and there are registration options provided.

The WSFGC Symposium-Refresher took place from September 24 to 26, 2024, at the Dryer Masonic Center in Tacoma, WA. It was attended by NGC Flower Show Judges, Student Judges, Garden Club Members, and enthusiasts of gardening and floral design. The event saw participation of at least 55 individuals across three days. The NGC instructors were David Robson on Roses, Maples & Japanese Maples as well as Botanical Arts Horticulture and Gina Jogan on Flower Show Procedures along with Creative Mass Designs and Construction Designs that were Floor Designs.
WSFGC Symposium Chairman Debbie Spiller and WSFGC Judges Chairman Linda Maida organized and ran the event. Predominantly, members of the Black Hills District and Hill n Dale District furnished designs, Horticulture and provided volunteer labor. Black Hills Clubs the Friendly Flowers and the Olympia Garden Club hosted lunches and coffee break goodies. Master Judges from both districts provided proctors and members for the Master Point Scoring Panels. Individuals from East Lake Washington District also pitched in.
A few special "Thank You's" are due. First to Puyallup Maple expert Julia Graham for providing maple samples from her garden to ELWD member Gail Baulinger for supplying the same, tagged and ready for study in both cases and to Hill n Dale District member Josephine Martin for donating a fabulous collection of named, blooming roses. Thank you all so much. Without your donations, none of this would have gone as well.  A big Thank You to everyone that helped make this a very successful Symposium.
